Chiropractic Technique

Dr. Michael Robles DC, has had extensive training in multiple different chiropractic techniques including: Zone Technique, Drop Table, Gonstead, Chiropractic BioPhysics, Functional Neurology, Pediatric care, Upper Cervical, Extremity adjusting, Cranio-Sacral, Fexion/Distraction and Diversified. From his training he has isolated what has been proven to get the best results in the shortest amount of time while still working with the body's natural healing process. His focus has been on making sure the adjustments are gentle, while still being effective at restoring proper motion to the joints necessary to create a healing response.

What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a natural form of healing that focuses on re-establishing proper function to the nerve system by restoring range of motion in joints of the spine and extremities. Approximately 80% of all the information that goes to the brain (from both the body and external environment) comes from the nerves that detect motion of the spinal joints. So as you can guess, the nerve system greatly relies on a healthy mobile spine. In addition, when the joints of the spine lose their proper range of motion and/or shift out of place, they can cause stress and pressure on the nerves as they exit the spine and transmit signals to other parts of the body. This can create problems in the internal organs as well as the musculoskeletal components that those nerves travel to. Studies show that people who receive regular chiropractic treatments have lower healthcare costs, fewer visits to healthcare professionals, and a greater quality of life.

Electric Stim (EMS/TENS): This is an extra treatment that will only be used in specific circumstances based on the Chiropractor's best judgement. It is a very effective tool when necessary.

Ultrasound: Sound waves that penetrate into the body and stimulate collagen repair. Studies have shown an approximately 50% reduction in healing time utilizing ultrasound therapy on injured tissue.

Percussion Therapy: A mechanical massage technique that stimulates specific nerves, helping to retrain neural pathways, and increase blood flow to specific areas of the body to improve healing.

Conditions Treated

Headaches and migraines: A majority of time, without significant trauma, headaches are caused by a lack of oxygen in the brain. This is a result of decreased blood flow which can be caused by fixated or misaligned joints in the neck. These fixations or misalignments can also cause muscle tension. With migraines, there is often neck pain as a precursor. This is can likely be caused by misalignments or "stuck" joints in the cervical spine. At Vibrant Health Chiropractic Dr. Michael Robles DC has had a lot of success at treating patients with these issues with adjustments to the joints in the neck and upper back.

Sciatica: This is when the nerves that emanate from the low back send pain, tingling, or numbness into the leg or foot. Often there are issues in the joints and alignment of the lumbar vertebrae that are contributing to the issue. Gentle and effective adjustments to the low back and sacrum often provide relief to these symptoms and are also a great way to help prevent the issues from ever coming up.

Sleep Issues: Commonly people have trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking up feeling rested. Because chiropractic adjustments help stimulate the parasympathetic (rest and digest) system many people have improved quality of sleep after a chiropractic treatment. Some people have even come to Vibrant Health Chiropractic with improved quality of sleep being their main concern.

Neck Pain: Joints in the neck can lose mobility for a number of different reasons. Sometimes continuous micro-traumas, like poor posture, can cause this. Sometimes, we experience macro-traumas, like a fall or car accident, that lead to issue in the neck. And sometimes, we simply sleep wrong and wake up with a stiff neck and reduced mobility. Whatever the cause, it is very important to restore proper motion to these joints in order for healing to take place and for the neck to go back to feeling normal. Chiropractic adjustments are the safest and easiest way to restore proper function to joints and muscles in the neck (cervical spine).

Back Pain: Whether it is the upper, mid, or low back, back pain is one of the most common musculoskeletal ailments experienced by humans. Approximately 80% of adults experience back pain at some point in their lives, yet only about 15% of adults regularly see a chiropractor. Many will seek drugs and surgery to mask the issue only to have it come back again and again. Chiropractic treatments are the best way to treat back pain and keep your spine healthy.

Rib Pain: This is a common musculoskeletal issue that we see in the office, yet it is very easily and safely treatable using the proper technique. It can often present in a variety of ways. Most commonly it presents as mid or upper back pain, or as chest pain and can even be confused with heart issues. Sometimes it presents as shoulder pain, due to the shoulder blade "catching" as it tries to glide over ribs on the upper back. Sometimes, it can even be the reason for neck or upper traps pain. Luckily, Dr. Michael Robles DC has learned a very gentle and effective method of restoring proper function to the ribs so you don't have to live with these symptoms.

Shoulder Pain: The shoulder joint is considered one of the most complex areas of the body because it has so many attachments to other parts of the body that may seem unrelated. For example, if there are misalignments or reduced mobility in the sacrum or lumbar spine, this can cause shoulder issues due to the muscular attachments of the latissimus dorsi muscle group. Of course there can be issues with the neck, or the actual shoulder joint that cause problems as well. At Vibrant Health Chiropractic, all extremity (arms and legs) joints can be evaluated and adjusted as needed to reduce negative symptoms and restore proper function.

TMJ disorder: TMJD is a common condition and usually presents as pain near the joint of the jaw. Sometimes people will notice their bite doesn't seem quite right. At Vibrant Health Chiropractic, Dr Michael Robles DC has a highly effective specific treatment technique that takes care of TMJD in anywhere from 1 to 4 visits with the results lasting for months or years at a time. This condition can happen for a variety of reasons but most commonly it occurs after certain dental treatments, sleeping in awkward positions, or from subluxations (misalignments) of the neck.

Sprained Ankle Injury and Foot Pain: Have you ever "rolled your ankle" and caused an inversion sprain in your ankle? In addition to feeling pain in the ankle from soft tissue injury, this can cause misaligned ankle joints that later lead to knee and foot problems. At Vibrant Health Chiropractic Dr. Michael Robles has been specially trained in adjusting the extremities and will use a specific gentle technique to ensure the ankle joints are in proper alignment. Not only can this relieve symptoms, but it will ensure that the soft tissue can heal better.

Carpal Tunnel (Syndrome): This presents as pain, tingling, or numbness of hand and/or wrist. It is believed to be caused by compression of the median nerve as it travels between the carpals (small bones in the wrist connecting our forearm bones to our hand bones) and the carpal ligament. Very commonly people who suffer from these symptoms will get surgery. However, at Vibrant Health Chiropractic, there have been countless patients who received this diagnosis before coming in and within a few visits were completely symptom-free and did not need surgery. This is because a vast majority of the time the symptoms are not caused by the structures of the wrist, but instead by irritation of the nerves as they exit the spine. Gentle adjustments to the neck and upper back are effective at solving the issue at the source quickly and have long-lasting effects.
